What you’ll learn in this article: The Simple 5 Step Process to use a Smart Phone in a really smart way.

A Simple Easy Guide to use any smartphone.

Before writing this article, to be honest, I was going through my smartphone searching about yoga mat online for 26 minutes, the funny part is I already have a purple yoga mat at my home and have no plans to buy it. However, sometimes many of us drift into the world of internet, fiddling around doing nothing. The majority of the people sometimes start using the phone just because our mind tricks us and makes us believe we are doing something important but in reality its not.

An average person with a smartphone on a daily basis uses it for more than 2hours 30 minutes. The shocking part is, it’s 30 full days of a month in a year if you add all the minutes you use on your smartphone CONTINUOUSLY.

In today's generation, it’s quite hard to stay away from smartphones, because it has become an integral part of our daily life. After the advent of smartphones, people got a superpower within their grasp. Now, with just a few clicks we can have the good food at our doorstep within few minutes, previously 100–200 years ago our grandfathers wouldn’t have believed about this idea if someone would have told them.

But as the ancient saying goes, “With great powers comes great responsibility.”

Voltaire, a very famous french writer and philosopher during the 17th Century.

The main reason behind writing this blog is, 1 year back I was badly addicted to smartphone use, sometimes the usage was more than 4hours in a day. And after a few months, my eyes got badly affected by too much smartphone usage. Blurry vision, neck pain, difficulty falling asleep at night, dry eyes and irritation after waking up the in the morning, and few others. I’ve to visit the doctor twice to get properly treated. And to my surprise when I visited the doctor, she told me that these days, she is getting around 30–35 similar cases like mine every week. The best thing she told me was, “ I’m giving the medicines which will treat you for now, but if you don't change this smartphone addiction I fear you have to keep visiting doctors again and again.” It literally changed my perspective. But it’s a very dangerous situation to be in for the young youth and upcoming generation if its not tackled now.

Fast forward 5 months from the day I visited that eye doctor. My vision got completely clear and sharp and yes without any glasses or contact lens. It all happened due to 4 simple things that I follow on a regular basis to protect my eyes and maintain it. Though I learned it the hard way, I hope you don't have to go through the pain and discomfort that I had to face during those days.

Here are the 4 Simple & Easy Healthy habits to correctly use your smartphone in a smart way —

  1. Setting a strict Mobile Free Zone — It should be in between, from 1 hour prior to your sleeping time and 1 hour later after you wake up in the morning. Because that’s the most crucial time when our eye nerves are extremely sensitive and mobile usage during these hours is a sure-shot way of suffering from dry eyes. Guaranteed. I myself have set my time from 10 pm- 7 am. During this time I don't use my smartphone.
  2. Always keeping the phone on Auto-brightness mode. And use the night mode setting from the evening, because it cuts the harmful blue light that emits from your smartphone screen, which reduces the melatonin formation in our brain, the main chemical which helps us fall asleep.
  3. Not Using the Smartphone for more than 2 hours every day. If you try using it more than that every day then eye problems and health complications are not far from you.
  4. Not Slouching the neck over the phone while using it. — This is the biggest bad habit of most of the people, this is why neck pain happens. The best way is to keep your smartphones parallel to your eye levels this way you don't have to lean over it. And try using both the hands while texting anyone cause prolonged one hand texting has shown to increase tendonitis on elbows and wrist and will cause pain in those areas.

So, it’s never too late to start adapting the good habits. I encourage you to share this article with your loved ones and family members. Because I don't want anyone to go through the painful process that I had gone.

Be Great.
